Early Kangxi (ca. 1678 AD) red glazed (Zhi Hong) 6-facet brush holder
A very rare early Kangxi (ca. 1678 AD) red glazed (Zhi Hong) 6-facet brush holder with Lin-zhi mushroom mark. PROVENANCE: Dr. Robert I. Lin, brought to California from Taiwan in 1960s. 稀有的康熙祭紅靈芝款六方筆同。形規整，古代燒造多片相連成的多方瓶類較困難，常有曲斜不平的現象，此筒例外。每兩面之間加飾縱溝漕，工藝細緻。胎細膩而白，屬於康熙糯米胎。密度大，提起時覺沉重。口沿，內壁及外底的白釉（透明釉）較乳濁，稍帶青，是典型康熙白釉。祭紅釉?厚，紅而稍暗，表面有極細的桔皮紋，無仿康熙瓷的耀眼賊光（玻璃面似的反光）仙芝款康熙瓷很稀有。康熙十六年左右曾禁書聖朝年款於瓷 上，以防聖款與器同毀。（加州林亦森博士珍藏，1960年代由台北帶來美國） Size: 5 3/8 in.
